Hello! Welcome to Couch Surfer Crochet!
My name is Amber. I was born in North Carolina (Go Heels!) and now live in Tennessee with my adorable husband, CJ and our awesome pittie, Walnut! I own a small business where I live and in my spare time I crochet while watching my favorite TV shows, which inspired me to create Couch Surfer Crochet!
I have a huge passion for crochet and I hope to share that with all of you! It is my hope that you will find inspiration here, and go forth and make something beautiful of your own. You will also find me here talking about which shows and movies I’m watching, what I’m reading, and the myriad nerdy things that may be grabbing my attention at the time!
When I was a little girl I would often sit with my grandmother, watching TV with her while she crocheted, knitted, embroidered, etc. Basically, if it involved thread or yarn, she had mastered it and could make the most beautiful things! She passed away before she was able to teach me, and I always regretted not learning these amazing talents.
Right after I got married in 2014 I found an old trunk of hers while visiting my parents. Inside it were three crocheted blankets she had made for me and my mother many years before. I felt a strong pull then to start learning this amazing craft. I think of her every time I pick up a hook, and it keeps me inspired to create and to share my journey.
I’ve recently added cross stitch, resin art, and Cricut design to my skill set. I hope to be able to use this platform to share all kinds of creative things with all of you.
I sell my finished creations on Etsy and Facebook.
I love custom orders! They allow me to expand my skill set and explore new and creative ways to use yarns and threads to make beautiful things! I’m also happy to customize any item in my shop to match the color and size you would prefer.
