Go Do Make!

Hello all! I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer!

I’ve been absent from the blog a lot longer than I wanted to be, but for good reason! I’ve been working lots of overtime at my day job to help pay for some home improvements, and I’ve gotten a lot of crochet orders from my friends lately. It seems like everyone I know is expecting a baby at the same time, so my hands have been very busy making precious tiny things!

This week I’m hoping to finish up all the work on my next Crochet Along. There will be an announcement for that soon! If you want to check out any of my previous CALs, just click the links below!

If a Crochet Along feels like too much of a commitment, check out these 5 FREE crochet patterns for baby! These are the things I’ve been working on lately, and I wanted to share with all of you! I love working on items for babies, because you can finish them so quickly! It really gives me a sense of accomplishment, and keeps my crochet mojo going when I only have a small amount of time to work on my creative pursuits!

1. Crochet Bear Lovey

How adorable is this crochet teddy bear lovey from Sewrella!?!?! I just finished one of these for a dear friend. Her little girl needs surgery soon and I wanted her to have something comforting. I made mine using White, Shocking Pink, and Real Teal. I made the bear in white and then made the stripes using all three colors.

2. Hugs and Kisses Baby Blanket

I’m currently working on the Hugs and Kisses Baby Blanket by The Crochet Crowd! One of my friends has decided not to learn the baby’s gender until the day, so I’m making this one in simple stripes of Grey Heather and White! I’ve been following The Crochet Crowd for years. Mikey is so inspiring and has tons of other free patterns if you want to try a few different things!

3. Three Color Baby Blanket

This Three Color Baby Blanket is actually one of my own designs! This pattern can be adapted into any size blanket. The stitch used is actually quite simple once you get the hang of it, but I think the finished piece has such a unique look! I made this one in Soft Taupe, Soft Navy, and Forest.

4. Newborn Baby Booties

Ok…for real. Baby shoes might be the cutest thing on the planet! The Newborn Baby Booties Pattern from Repeat Crafter Me is absolutely perfect! I’ve made a few pairs of these already and I just cannot get enough. My friend’s babies may each get 3 or 4 pairs of these by the time I’m finished! It’s a beautiful feeling to see the little ones all decked up in crocheted clothes. You can find quite a lot of knitted baby clothes on web portals like Louie Boutique and other similar sites.

5. Baby Toys from Moogly Blog

This last link is chock full of awesome ideas! I couldn’t pick just one type of baby toy, so I’m sharing this post from Moogly Blog. Follow that link and you will find 10 different baby toy patterns. Each one is so cute, and can be customized in any color!

BONUS: If you want to keep it simple, check out my Basic Beanie Pattern. This pattern shows you how to make the easiest beanie you’ve ever made! Once you get the hang of it, you can knock out lots of these in a short period of time! My donation bag always has lots of these, too!

I’m working on partnering with a local charity in my area to spread the love farther and wider this year. If you would be interested in helping or adding to our donation pile, email me at amber@l0u.418.myftpupload.com.
