Mixed Stitch CAL – Week 2

Week 2
Rows 11-20

Welcome back to the Mixed Stitch Blanket Crochet Along!

Week 1 (rows 1 – 10) can be found HERE.

In the first 10 rows of this pattern I showed you the granny stripe. In this section of 10 rows you will try the “V” stitch and the Treble Ladder stitch! These unique stitches are what gives this blanket it’s wonderful drape and texture! I hope you enjoy this section.

See you again for Week 3!

  1. Hi, I am a beginner so please bear with me!! On row 19 do I do all stitches into row 18, I don’t understand how the grey gets behind the green in the picture!! Maybe I’m being totally brain dead, sorry. If someone could explain it I’d be really grateful. There’s three rows in row 19 but am I crocheting into back loops or how do I get the grey behind the green like in the picture?? Maybe this is too hard for me ??. Thank you ❤

    • Omg just looked at the picture again and I actually don’t think there is grey behind the green trebles!! Can you just let me know if I was looking at it wrong, I’m so sorry! I’m making it harder than it actually is, I think! On one picture it looks like there is grey behind the treble ladder stitches so I thought we had to crochet behind them but on another picture there is nothing behind the green treble ladder row!! It’s late so please excuse my ignorance, I’m probably totally wrong!!
      Thanks! ??

      • Oh no! I’m sorry for any confusion! The color you are seeing is the color of my rug! I didn’t have another big flat surface I could take the photos on! I hope that clears it up!

      • Thanks Amber!! I’m sorry, it was my fault, I’m still very new to all this!! I’m sure anyone else doing it wouldn’t have made this mistake like me!! Thank you so much for your help, I can’t wait to get started now ❤

  2. Hi Amber,
I realize with varying starting chain lengths a row by row stitch isn’t feasible, but I’m having problems after row 19 coming out evenly. I started with a chain of 240+2. I have 121 treble stitches in that row and am trying to figure out at which row I may have made an error.
Also, is it safe to assume that when your pattern doesn’t “state” that the starting chain doesn’t count as a stitch, the 1st stitch of that row is the same as the where the chain is?

    • Hello!

I apologize if the pattern wasn’t clear! I’m still fairly new to writing them out and sometimes I forget to explain some things. The starting chain counts as the first stitch on each row. That may explain why you had an extra row on the treble row? If that doesn’t help could you share a photo so I could see it in comparison to my finished piece?
