Whenever I use another designer’s square I will ALWAYS follow copyright rules and intellectual property requirements. Since this square was originally part of the Moogly CAL 2017, it is copyrighted to it’s original designer! I am using this project in part to try new things and introduce you all to new designers! I want to make sure everyone is properly credited and attributed for any work they have done!

I will share my step by step photos for this pattern, but I am not able to share each step of the pattern. Please click the link to see the pattern! There are very detailed and helpful step by step photos! You can also download the pattern on Ravelry for easy access!

2019 Block-A-Week : Week 1

Hello and welcome to Couch Surfer Crochet!

Since a new year has just begun, I’ve decided to start a fun project that I can work on all year long.I love making crochet squares of all types. I am fascinated by the way you can take simple stitches, put them together in unexpected ways, and have the most interesting looking square when you are done! I’ve done two different Crochet Alongs using squares. The first one, the Hip to be Square blanket, used the basic granny in addition to a few squares of my own design. The second CAL, the Stash Buster Granny Square blanket, used basic granny squares with specific color placement.

I thought about doing the “365 Days of Granny Squares” challenge, but I know I would get distracted somewhere along the way and get frustrated, so I’m simplifying that to ONE a week and only picking my favorite squares! I plan to do ONE square each week and at the end of the year make all of those into a unique and interesting blanket! Each square will be 12″. Some of the squares will be my own design, and some I have found online!

Since the New Year starts in the middle of the week, I will be posting my weekly granny squares on Fridays. I won’t have video tutorials available for each of those at first, but I do hope to get there soon!
