Changing Chevrons CAL – Week 5

Hello! Welcome back to Couch Surfer Crochet! We are now on Week 5 of the Changing Chevrons Crochet Along! I hope you all are enjoying this project as much as I am!

Before we get into the pattern today, I want to take a minute to say a sincere thank you to the members of the Couch Surfer Crocheters Facebook Group. Making a Chevron pattern has been much more challenging than anything I’ve done so far, and you have all been amazing during this process. I have posted a few mistakes in the pattern the last couple of weeks, and you all have been so nice and helpful while I get everything sorted! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This little website is my passion project, and I am so happy to share with all of you. Thank you for patience as we all figure this out together!

NOW, on to the fun stuff!

This week’s section is from the pink rows at the bottom to the pink rows at the top!

Simple Scraps Throw Crochet Pattern

Welcome back to Couch Surfer Crochet! I hope you all are doing well. This winter the flu seems to be everywhere, which is just another good excuse to stay inside and crochet! A few weeks ago, I shared an adorable photo of my dog claiming one of my WIPs (works in progress). I had so many requests for the pattern for the blanket I was working on.

I previously shared a few ways to use up your yarn scraps if you have really small amounts of yarn. I wanted to figure out what to do with those “medium” balls of yarn you wind up with after finishing a project.

Square Crochet Along – Details

Hello again!

I have had a few questions regarding the upcoming Hip to be Square Crochet Along. I wanted to write up a quick post to further explain the details of how this will work!

This blanket will be made of 36 squares in total, in a 6×6 grid. I ran a poll in the Couch Surfer Crocheters Facebook group to determine how to share the squares each week. I didn’t know if you all would rather grow your blankets row by row (doing a few different types of squares each week), or if you’d want to do all of one type of square at the same time. The vast majority of you voted to do all of ONE type of square for each week.

Free Crochet Pattern

Today I want to share with you a new pattern I devised. I wanted to try a different shape than I had done before, so I tried to think of a way to do that. I came up with this cute pattern, the Twelve Point Star Blanket. It is worked in the round, and uses the chevron style to create the points.

Three Color Baby Blanket Pattern

Oh my gosh you guys, I am so excited! I just found out one of my oldest friends is expecting her second baby! She already has a gorgeous little girl that I love so much! This time she is having a boy! When she had her daughter I made a blanket for her crib, so I knew I wanted to do the same thing for her son!

Her husband is in the military, so I wanted to choose colors that tied into that. I thought tan, navy, and green would look very nice together. I chose to use Soft Taupe, Soft Navy, and Forest.
